Liz AylingLiz Ayling is a Malta-based, British business and feature writer and mother to one young son.  Liz has 20 years experience in writing and has crafted words for the some of the most innovative, mundane and bizarre of companies and individuals.  Having worked in the UK for the European Commission and a large London ad agency, some people wondered why she migrated to Malta.  Marriage and Mediterranean warmth and light sum up the main reasons, but it was probably just meant to be.  Now, 14 years on, she feels privileged to be able to manage a reasonable work-life balance writing in her farmhouse from the centre of an old Maltese village.

Alex GrechAlex Grech left Malta in his early twenties to pursue a career as a management consultant in the UK.  He returned to Malta as an advisor to Government, and was part of the team that set up the Malta Tourism Authority.  He was also the founding Chairman of Heritage Malta.  Alex now runs StrategyWorks and advises start-ups and SMEs.  More than anything else, Alex’s passion is writing and social media as a means of creating informed conversations.  Alex considers himself to be both a Malta insider and outsider – his many years away having honed his instinct of all that is remarkable in Malta.

Andrew Galea Debono was born in London in 1977 to a Maltese father and an Egyptian-born mother of Italian origin. With this parentage, it was always clear that Andrew would not be confined to one place or pigeon holed. Andrew spent his early childhood in London and Malta, before roaming the world with a backpack and camera. After university in Malta, Sweden and the Netherlands, Andrew graduated as a Doctor in Laws, before going on to specialise in Human Rights. In 2005, he left Malta to work for an Indian NGO based in Delhi. While there, he fell in love with photography thanks to an encounter with an inspiring Canadian photographer. Later, he became the international advocacy coordinator for a large international refugee NGO based in Rome – a job which involved travel to remote regions in Africa, South America and the Far East. Andrew works as a freelance human rights consultant, photographer and videographer and is temporarily based in Malta – until the next mission comes along!

Antonio Olivari D’Emanuele is the typical meticulous organiser obsessed with detail. He has worked in public relations for the past seven years, having obtained a degree in communications degree from the University of Malta. He added to this a masters degree from University of Leicester, UK. He is also a rock musician and composer, and apart from the obligatory membership of hairy rock bands and playing at loud live concerts, he has recorded music for television programmes, video games and adverts. Time-management is always an issue with him as his life seems to be a race against time.

Melanie HartMelanie Hart graduated from the University of Malta with a B.A. (Hons.) in Maltese; her thesis focused on sex and sexuality in Maltese literature, an area considered taboo in Maltese society. While at university, she also worked for an online art company, liaising with artists and procuring artworks for sale in various foreign markets. She also found time to freelance for various magazines as a photographer and music contributor, mainly interviewing bands and reviewing gigs. Her love of all forms of art, especially photography, helps her balance her hectic schedule and enables her to appreciate the more ethereal things in life. Having just gained a Masters in Creative Thinking and Innovation, Melanie has discovered a passion for new media.

Antonio AnastasiAntonio Anastasi. Thirty years ago and over 12,000 logged dives later (some 48,000 man dives), I am one of those lucky persons whose job also happens to be his passion. I am a BSAC Advanced Instructor, PADI Open Water Instructor, and CMAS (Malta) 3 Star Instructor. I work in a profession and with a company, MaltaAqua, which allows me to live my dream to not only dive but introduce and share my passion for diving with the thousands of people I have dived with or the hundreds I have qualified. My job gives me the opportunity to not only share our marine enviorment but also to show off this country I call home. So for this role and life, I am eternally grateful to Malta.
